Food Habits and Washing Hands Behavior Among Adult and Teenagers During Pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic has hit the world, including Indonesia, so prevention is needed, including using masks, keeping distance and washing hands. In addition to maintaining individual hygiene, it is recommended to eat balanced nutrition by increasing the consumption of vegetables and fruit. This study aims to study changes in eating habits and hand washing before and during the Covid-19 pandemic in adults in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek). The research is an online survey using google form, WhatsApp and video call to 155 respondents. Data on characteristics, eating habits and hand washing were collected using a questionnaire and food recall. The data is processed by SPSS. The characteristics of the respondents are mostly women, aged 25 to 34 years, working in the private sector, civil servants, housewives and students. Vegetable consumption increased 2 times a day (46.5%) and 3 times a day (25.2%). Fruit consumption increased 2 times a day (29%) and 3 times a day (12.3%) and animal protein consumption increased 2 times a day (49%) and 3 times a day (38.1%). Meanwhile, the consumption of herbal medicine once a day increased to 31.6% and 2 times a day was 9%. Supplement consumption also increased by 51.6% 1 time a day and 4.5% 2 times a day as well as an increase in the implementation of hand washing behavior. There has been an increase in the consumption of vegetables, fruit, animal protein, herbs and supplements among adults in Jabodetabek during the pandemic.
