ANALISIS FAKTOR PENYEBAB PENGULANGAN CITRA RADIOGRAFI DENGAN MODALITAS DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY
This research was motivated by the persistent occurrence of repeat radiographic \r\nexaminations performed using Digital Radiography (DR), which may increase the \r\npatient radiation exposure and reduce the efficiency of radiology services. \r\nTherefore, this research aimed to analyse the factors contributing to repeat \r\nradiographic examinations, determine the repeat rate, and identify the measures \r\nimplemented to minimize repeat examinations undertaken in Radiology \r\nDepartment of Hospital X. This research employed a qualitative method with \r\ndescriptive approach involving observations of repeat radiographic examination \r\ndata and interviews with radiographers. As for the research sample, it comprised all \r\nnon-contrast radiographic examinations that required repeat imaging during the \r\nperiod from February to April 2026, which was accordingly selected using a total \r\nsampling technique. The research results showed that 95 repeat radiographic \r\nexaminations occurred among 3,236 radiographic examinations, yielding a repeat \r\nrate of 2.94%. The leading cause of repeat examinations was positioning errors \r\n(66.31%), followed by the patient motion (18.94%), artifacts (9.47%), \r\nunderexposure (3.15%), and overexposure (2.10%). Furthermore, the measures \r\nimplemented to minimize repeat radiographic examinations included the \r\nimplementation of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) programs, \r\nimproving radiographers\' accuracy in the patient positioning, providing clear \r\ninstructions to the patients, and conducting periodic repeat analysis. It can be \r\nconcluded that the repeat rate remains above the hospital\'s minimum service \r\nstandard. Therefore, continuous evaluation and quality improvement initiatives are \r\nconsequently necessary to enhance the quality of radiology services.
