ANALISIS PENGARUH EDUKASI TERHADAP KEBERHASILAN PEMERIKSAAN MRI PADA PASIEN LANSIA DI RUMAH SAKIT KHUSUS DAERAH DUREN SAWIT

This research aimed to analyse the effect of patient education on the successful completion of MRI examinations among older adult patients undertaken at Duren Sawit Regional Special Hospital. The research applied a qualitative method with descriptive observational approach. As for the research population, they consisted of older adult patients who underwent MRI examinations in Radiology Department of Duren Sawit Regional Special Hospital. Subsequently, a total of 15 older adult patients were included using a purposive sampling technique based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria.\r\nData were collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews using an observation checklist, a structured questionnaire, and an interview guide. Afterward, the collected data were then analysed descriptively and presented as the frequency distribution tables and percentages.\r\nThe research results showed that all patients (100%) received patient education and understood the information provided. The majority of the patients (86.7%) reported feeling more relaxed, were able to follow the instructions, maintained the required position throughout the examination, and successfully completed the MRI examination without difficulty. However, 13.3% of patients experienced discomfort due to pain during the examination, resulting in the need for repeated scanning.\r\nBased on the reserach findings, it can be concluded that patient education has a positive impact on the patient understanding, cooperation, and the successful completion of MRI examinations among older adult patients. Nevertheless, patients\' physical and psychological conditions also influence the success of MRI examinations.\r\nKeywords : Patient Education; Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI); Older Adult Patients; Examination Success
