Penetapan Kadar Erdosteine Sediaan Dry Syrup Secara Kromatografi Cair Kinerja Tinggi (KCKT)
Coughing is one of the human body's natural responses when the respiratory
tract's defense system is disturbed. Coughing is the body's defense mechanism in
the respiratory tract and is a symptom of a disease or the body's reaction to
irritation in the throat due to the presence of mucus or mucus, food, dust, smoke,
and so on. One of the coughs that must be treated immediately is a cough with
phlegm which is usually caused by the presence of micro-organisms. One of them
is chronic bronchitis which can be treated with Erdosteine. Erdostein is a
mucolytic agent with a mechanism of action to thin mucus and sputum; it also has
anti-inflammatory, cough suppressant, and antioxidant effects. This mucolytic
drug can work by helping to make the phlegm in the respiratory tract area
thinner. Erdosteine assay testing needs to be done to ensure its quality and safety.
This test was carried out to assay Erdosteine levels in dry syrup preparations
using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) mobile phase used was
a mixture of buffer–acetonitrile P (90:10), a 1.0 mL/min flow rate, and a UV-Vis
detector λ 220 nm. Based on the experiments and calculations that have been
done, the average content is 92.8%. So it can be concluded that the sample does
not meet the requirements according to the erdosteine capsule monograph,
namely 95% -105%.
