Diarrhea is one of the environmental-based diseases that occurs in almost all geographic areas in the world with the majority of children under the age of 5 years. The problem of diarrhea in Indonesia often occurs in the form of Extraordinary Events (KLB). Poor coverage of environmental sanitation that accumulates with poor maternal behavior is often a risk factor for diarrhea outbreaks in toddlers
This research is entitled "The Correlation Between Environmental Sanitation and Mother Behavior on the Incidence Diarrhea of Toddlers in RW 01 Kota Bambu Utara I Working Area of Puskesmas Kota Bambu Utara, Palmerah Subdistrict, West Jakarta City in 2022". This study is an explanatory quantitative study with a cross sectional study design. The sample in this study were toddlers aged 0-59 months with a total population of 110 toddlers with a total of 58 respondents. The data used in this study are secondary data from related agencies or other sources and primary data obtained through interviews and observations
The results of statistical analysis on 8 variables obtained 4 variables related to the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers, namely the variable of garbage disposal facilities (p-value = 0.0005), hand washing habits (p-value = 0.004), habits of using food utensils (p-value = 0.005). value = 0.0047), mother's knowledge (p-value = 0.0035). Meanwhile, the variables of clean water supply facilities (p-value = 0.458), faecal disposal facilities (p-value = 0.072), waste water disposal facilities ( p-value = 0.498), and the habit of using a milk bottle (p-value = 0.172) doesn’t have a significant correlation with the incidence of diarrhea in children under five.
