HUBUNGAN HIGIENE SANITASI DENGAN KUALITAS BAKTERIOLOGIS AIR MINUM DI DEPOT AIR MINUM WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS KELURAHAN PONDOK KELAPA JAKARTA TIMUR TAHUN 2026
Safe drinking water must meet bacteriological quality standards to prevent it from becoming a medium for disease transmission. The increasing use of drinking water depots (DAM) requires the implementation of hygiene and sanitation measures to ensure the safety of drinking water. According to 2025 data from the Duren Sawit Subdistrict Community Health Center, 75% of drinking water samples from depots in Pondok Kelapa Village did not meet bacteriological quality standards. This study is useful for broadening the author’s knowledge, serving as a basis for evaluation by drinking water depot managers, providing a reference for educational institutions, and offering information to the public on how to choose safe drinking water\r\nThis study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design titled “The Relationship Between Sanitation Hygiene and the Bacteriological Quality of Drinking Water at Drinking Water Depots in the Service Area of the Pondok Kelapa Community Health Center, East Jakarta, in 2026.” The scope of the study includes an assessment of the bacteriological quality of drinking water and the hygiene and sanitation of the facilities, equipment, handlers, raw water, as well as knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, training, and supervision at the drinking water depots. The study sample consisted of 22 water distribution stations, 22 water handlers, and 22 drinking water samples. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and laboratory tests, and were then analyzed using Fisher’s Exact Test, Fishbone analysis, and ultrasound methods.\r\nThe results of the study showed that 15 water distribution stations (68%) did not meet the bacteriological quality standards for drinking water, while 7 stations (32%) did. There was an association between facility sanitation (p=0.007), handler sanitation (p=0.021), and handler practices (p=0.020) with the bacteriological quality of drinking water, whereas equipment sanitation (p=1.000) and raw water (p=0.074) were not associated. In conclusion, the bacteriological quality of drinking water is associated with facility sanitation, handler sanitation, and handler practices; therefore, the implementation of sanitation practices needs to be continuously improved.
