ANALISIS PERBEDAAN PENGGUNAAN HEEL EFFECT TERHADAP KUALITAS CITRA PADA PEMERIKSAAN VERTEBRA THORAKAL
In radiographic practice, the radiation intensity produced by an X-ray tube is \r\ngreater at the cathode end than at the anode end, this phenomenon is known as the \r\nanode heel effect. Consequently, the positioning of the anode and cathode is rarely \r\nconsidered during radiographic examinations; therefore, the anode is more \r\ncommonly positioned inferiorly, which may affect image quality. \r\nThis research aimed to analyse the differences of utilizing the anode heel effect \r\non image quality in thoracic vertebrae radiography. \r\nThis research applied a quantitative research design. The research data were \r\nobtained from signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) values \r\nanalysed using statistical software. If the data were normally distributed, a paired t\r\ntest was performed; otherwise, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was conducted. \r\nThe results of research showed that there was a difference in thoracic vertebrae \r\nradiographic examinations performed with and without the application of the anode \r\nheel effect.
