In this practice, proper fasting is essential to achieve an optimal visualization of the gallbladder and biliary stones in the patients with clinical cholelithiasis.rnResearch Objective: This research aims to analyse the effect of varying fasting durations on the quality of gallbladder and biliary stone visualization in MRCP examinations using the Single Shot technique, as well as to identify the fasting duration that produces the most optimal imaging results.rnResearch Design: This research applied a qualitative descriptive method with an observational approach, involving 20 MRCP patients with clinical cholelithiasis undertaken at Persahabatan Hospital, Ministry of Health. Image quality was assessed through direct observation of the MRCP results and interviews with experienced radiologists and radiographers.rnResearch Results: As the result, this research indicates that the variations in fasting duration affect the quality of MRCP image visualization. Fasting for 2 and 4 hours produced gallbladder anatomical visualization that was suboptimal and inconsistent, whereas fasting for 6 and 8 hours resulted in better gallbladder distension and more optimal imaging.rnConclusion: Fasting for 6 and 8 hours provides the most optimal visualization of the gallbladder and biliary ducts, with 6 hours considered the most balanced in terms of image quality and patient comfort. Fasting for 2 hours may still be considered under certain conditions.rnrnKeywords : Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP), Single Shot, Fasting Duration, CholelithiasisrnReferences : 26 sources (2014–2025)
