ANALISIS VISUALISASI VARIAN BODY MARKER PADA MRI PELVIS DENGAN PENGGUNAAN SEQUENCES SPAIR INSTALASI RADIOLOGI RUMAH SAKIT PERSAHABATAN
Research Background: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is an advanced imagingrnmodality that provides high-resolution visualization of soft tissues without the use ofrnionizing radiation. In clinical practice, MRI body markers are used as the external surfacernmarkers to assist radiologist in identifying specific anatomical locations, particularly in thernareas of pain or lesions that are difficult to localize. For this reason, the use of the SpectralrnAdiabatic Inversion Recovery (SPAIR) sequence as a fat-suppression technique has thernpotential to influence marker visibility, especially for fat-based markers.rnrnResearch Objective: This research aims to analyse the differences in the visualization ofrnfive body marker variants namely Natur E, fish oil, ultrasound gel, hair oil (elliptical form),rnand calcitriol in pelvic MRI examinations using the SPAIR sequence.rnrnResearch Design: This research applied a qualitative method with descriptive comparativernapproach involving three healthy volunteers representing lean, average, and large bodyrnhabitus categories based on body mass index (BMI). Pelvic MRI examinations werernperformed with the placement of five different body markers on each volunteer. Markerrnvisibility was assessed by a radiologist using a Likert-scale questionnaire evaluating shapernclarity, contrast relative to the background, and ease of identification.rnrnResearch Results: As the result, this research demonstrated that there are differences inrnthe visualization levels among the various body marker types when using the SPAIRrnsequence. Oil-based markers exhibited much better visibility compared to water-basedrnmarkers. The research concluded that the type of marker material affects visualization inrnpelvic MRI with the SPAIR sequence, therefore, selecting the appropriate marker canrnenhance the quality of diagnostic information.
