In this matter, one of the factors affecting image quality is slice thickness.rnThis research aims to analyse the effect of slice thickness variations on the image quality of arterial phase abdominal CT scans and to determine the slice thickness that produces the most optimal image quality.rnThe research was undertaken starting from August to October 2025 at Tangerang Regional General Hospital, using 10 samples of three-phase abdominal CT scans in the cases of hepatic nodules. This research applied a qualitative method with descriptive approach incorporating among the other things direct observation and interviews. As for the data, they were obtained from arterial phase CT image reconstructions using three different slice thickness variations. While image quality assessment was conducted using a Likert scale, complemented by interviews with three radiologists and twenty-two experienced radiographers as the respondents. The respondents evaluated the images using the Likert scale across five parameters for each slice thickness namely clarity of nodule boundaries, sharpness of vascularization and nodule-parenchyma contrast, visualization of surrounding organ structures, and overall image quality assessment. Subsequently, the researcher then assessed the average scores from the Likert scale and drew conclusions based on both the mean values and the interview results. rnAs the results, this research demonstrated that there is a decrease in the image quality in line with the increase of slice thickness.rnrnKeywords : Abdominal CT, Arterial Phase, Slice Thickness, Image Quality
