In this matter, the sagittal T2-weighted Turbo Spin Echo (TSE) sequence is commonly used because it provides clear visualization of among the other things the intervertebral discs, cerebrospinal fluid spaces, spinal cord, vertebral bodies, and ligamentum flavum. In relation to which, one of the parameters that influences image quality is Repetition Time (TR). TR affects tissue relaxation and determines T2 contrast appearance. Variations in TR values across healthcare facilities may lead to differences in anatomical clarity; therefore, its effect needs to be analysed, particularly in HNP cases.rnResearch Design: This research applied a quantitative method with experimental approach. As for the MRI examinations, they were performed on nine patients with clinical HNP using three different TR variations namely 3000 ms, 3500 ms, and 4000 ms. While the quality of anatomical information was evaluated by four assessors, consisting of two radiologists and two radiographers, using an ordinal-scale questionnaire. Thereafter, the data were analysed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, followed by the Friedman test.rnResearch Results: As the results, this research showed that all data had significance values 0.05, indicating a non-normal distribution. The Friedman test yielded a p-value of 0.019, demonstrating a statistically significant difference among the three TR variations in terms of anatomical visualization. The highest mean rank was observed at TR values of 3500 ms and 4000 ms (mean rank = 2.50), indicating that these TR settings provided the clearest anatomical visualization in sagittal T2-weighted TSE lumbar MRI examinations in the patients with Herniated Nucleus Pulposus.rnrnKeywords : Lumbar MRI, Repetition Time, Herniated Nucleus Pulposus, Sagittal T2 TSE, Anatomical Information
