ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN HASIL GAMBARAN RADIOGRAFI PEMERIKSAAN ABDOMEN LEFT LATERAL DECUBITUS (LLD) PROYEKSI AP DAN PA PADA PASIEN DENGAN KLINIS ILEUS OBSTRUKSI
ABSTRACT rnRADIOLOGY DIPLOMA III STUDY PROGRAM RADIODIAGNOSTICS AND rnRADIOTHERAPY DEPARTMENT HEALTH POLYTECHNIC OF HEALTH rnMINISTRY JAKARTA II rnSCIENTIFIC PAPER, 2025 rnPUNGKAS PRASTAWA DARAKA (P2.11.40.22.20.44) rnA COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF RADIOGRAPHIC FINDINGS IN LEFT rnLATERAL DECUBITUS (LLD) ABDOMINAL EXAMINATIONS APPLYING AP AND rnPA PROJECTIONS IN THE PATIENTS WITH CLINICALLY SUSPECTED rnOBSTRUCTIVE ILEUS rnBy: rnPungkas Prastawa D.¹, Nurbaiti², Rosita Indrianti³ rnAccordingly, this document is a proposal for a Scientific Paper that analyses and compares rnradiographic imaging results of the abdomen in the Left Lateral Decubitus (LLD) position using both rnAnteroposterior (AP) and Posteroanterior (PA) projections, specifically in the cases of obstructive rnileus (bowel obstruction). In this matter, this research is motivated by the observation that, although rnthe AP projection is more commonly used due to its ease of application and greater patient comfort, rnparticularly in the emergency or the debilitated patients, it carries a higher risk of image rnmagnification and suboptimal anatomical detail. rnConversely, the PA projection is considered superior in terms of image sharpness and rnminimal distortion, making it ideal for identifying air-fluid levels constituting an essential diagnostic rnindicator of obstructive ileus. However, positioning the patients for this projection is more rnchallenging, particularly in the critically ill individuals. In relation to which, this research aims to rnprovide a comprehensive comparison of the procedures, advantages, and limitations of both rnprojections, which significantly enable the radiographers to select the most appropriate method that rnbalances diagnostic image quality with the patient’s clinical condition. rnKeywords : Left Lateral Decubitus (LLD) Abdomen, Obstructive Ileus, Abdominal AP and rnPA Projection
