ANALISIS ANKLE JOINT MORTISE VIEW DENGAN PENGGUNAAN SUDUT 15 DAN 20 DERAJAT TERHADAP PASIEN LANSIA
Background : Based on clinical practice, this research is motivated by the high rnincidence of osteoarthritis among the elderly, which often results in joint disorders, rnas well as the need for optimal radiographic imaging of the ankle joint to support rnaccurate diagnosis. In this matter, the ankle mortise view projection is considered rnessential for clearly visualizing the joint space between the tibia, fibula, and talus rnwithout superimposition. rnObjective : This research aims to examine the radiographic technique of the ankle rnjoint mortise view using 15° and 20° angles, and to analyse the image quality of rnankle joint radiographs in the elderly patients with osteoarthritis using both angles. rnResearch Method : This research applied a descriptive qualitative approach rnthrough among the other things observation, radiographic documentation, and rninterviews with radiographers and radiologists undertaken at Cibitung EMC rnHealthcare Hospital. As for the research sample, it consisted of 8 elderly patients rnclinically diagnosed with osteoarthritis, who underwent ankle mortise view rnexaminations using 15° and 20° internal rotation angles. rnResearch Results : The research results showed that using a 15° angle provided a rnmore open, clear, and symmetrical visualization of the joint space compared to the rn20° angle. A total of 85.7% of respondents (radiographers and radiologists) rnevaluated the 15° images as superior in displaying anatomical details and reducing rnthe overlap compared to those taken at 20°. rnConclusion: The research concludes that a 15° angle is more optimal for use in the rnelderly patients with osteoarthritis during ankle joint mortise view examinations. rnKeywords : Ankle Joint, Ankle Mortise View, Osteoarthritis, Elderly.
