PENATALAKSANAAN PEMERIKSAAN ELBOW JOINT PADA PASIEN POST OPERASI DI INSTALASI RADIOLOGI RUMAH SAKIT ISLAM JAKARTA PONDOK KOPI

This scientific paper discusses the radiographic management of elbow joint examinations rnin post-surgery patients conducted at Jakarta Islamic Hospital, Pondok Kopi. The research aims to rnanalyse the procedures and radiographic techniques used, as well as to evaluate their effectiveness rnin producing informative diagnostic results. rnIn medical practice, the elbow joint is considered a complex articulation that is frequently rninjured, particularly through fractures, making radiographic examination essential for accurate rndiagnosis. Thereafter, using a descriptive design and a qualitative approach, data were then collected rnthrough among the other things observation, interviews with radiographers, and literature review. rnThe results of the research indicate that the radiographic examination procedure does not rnrequire any special preparation, in utilizing Anteroposterior (AP) and Lateral projection techniques. rnFor the patients who are unable to fully extend the arm, the AP Partial Flexion projection is rnconsequently required to be used, which has proven effective in providing the informative diagnostic rnimages. rnThe conclusion of this research is that the radiographic procedures and techniques applied rnare in accordance with the established standards and provide adequate results for diagnostic rnpurposes. The research recommends the use of fixation devices to enhance the patient comfort and rnimprove image quality. It is also expected to serve as a reference for radiology practitioners in rndeepening their understanding of the management of elbow joint examinations in post-surgery rnpatients.
