PROSEDUR PEMERIKSAAN RADIOGRAFI VERTEBRAE LUMBAL DENGAN KLINIS SPONDYLOSIS
In radiological practice, radiographic examination of the lumbar vertebrae in clinical spondylosis is performed using three projections namely anteroposterior (AP), lateral, and oblique views. In this matter, the pathology affecting the lumbar vertebrae is spondylosis, which refers to age-related changes in the spine primarily characterized by progressive degeneration of the intervertebral discs, followed by alterations in the bone and soft tissues, or abnormal excessive bone growth. This research aims to evaluate the radiographic examination procedures for lumbar vertebrae in clinical spondylosis undertaken at Jakarta Hospital in 2025.rnThis research applied a descriptive qualitative research design with a case study approach.rnThe research was conducted at Jakarta Hospital starting from May up to June 2025. As for the research population, they consisted of all patients undergoing radiographic examination of the lumbar vertebrae for clinical spondylosis. A total of 10 subjects who met the criteria were included as research samples.rnWhile the data collection was carried out through among the other things direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The research instruments used included observation sheets, interview guides, and a digital camera. Thereafter, data processing and analysis were then performed by classifying the data based on the type and source, followed by narrative formulation and conclusion drawing.rnThe results of this research indicate that, according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for radiographic examination of the lumbar vertebrae in clinical spondylosis carried out at Jakarta Hospital in 2025, the use of anteroposterior (AP) and lateral projections is sufficient to evaluate the condition of the lumbar vertebrae. The projections used AP and lateral with perpendicular central ray direction, were deemed adequate without the need for additional oblique, flexion, or extension views.
