In relation to which, at Jakarta Islamic Hospital – Cempaka Putih, this examination is typically conducted with the patient in a prone position, and the knee is gradually flexed to the maximum possible extent, usually around 45 degrees of flexion, using a perpendicular X-ray beam. However, in obese patients, maximum knee flexion often causes discomfort or even pain. To address this, the X-ray beam is angled 5–15° cranially, while the patient flexes the knee as much as comfortably possible. This research focuses on three female patients over the age of 45, using a qualitative method with descriptive approach. Results of this research indicate that the skyline projection of the knee using the Settegast method with a perpendicular X-ray beam provides a more optimal visualization of the patella and a clearer patellofemoral joint space when the patient is in the prone position with the knee flexed at 45 degrees, compared to the angulated beam technique at 15° cranially.rnrnKeywords : Genu Skyline, Settegast, OsteoarthritisrnReference List : 17 sources (2015–2023) Translated by:
