ANALISIS PROTEKSI DAN KESELAMATAN RADIASI PADA DESAIN RUANG PEMERIKSAAN RADIOLOGI DI RSUD KABUPATEN TANGERANG
In modern healthcare, radiology is an essential component of medical support services in healthcare, requiring a continuous adaptation to advancements in technology and scientific knowledge. A safe and regulation-compliant design of radiology examination rooms serves as a fundamental foundation for delivering optimal healthcare services, as it minimizes unnecessary radiation exposure to radiation workers, patients, and the general public.rnThis research aims to evaluate the compliance of the radiology examination room design undertaken at Radiology Department of Tangerang District Regional General Hospital (RSUD) with radiation protection and safety standards, as well as Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) principles. The research was conducted at Radiology Department of Tangerang District Regional General Hospital (RSUD) undertaken during March–April 2025, using a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. As for the data, they were collected through among the other things direct field observations and measurements, interviews with the Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) and radiographers, as well as from documented records.rnThe results of the research show that, overall, the design of the radiology examination rooms and the implementation of radiation protection and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) carried out at Radiology Department of Tangerang District Regional General Hospital (RSUD) are in compliance with the current regulations. However, the availability of lead (Pb) gloves for fluoroscopy examinations remains inadequate. These gloves are essential to ensure the safety of personnel during procedures. In conclusion, while the room design and application of OHS principles meet regulatory standards, there are still shortcomings in radiation protection equipment, particularly the absence of lead gloves for staff involved in fluoroscopic examinations.
