ANALISIS VARIASI SCAN TIME DELAY TERHADAP INFORMASI ANATOMI PADA MSCT NASOFARING DENGAN KLINIS KARSINOMA NASOFARING
Pathologically, nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a type of cancer that originates in the mucosa of the nasopharynx, characterized by the differentiation of mucosal cells. In relation to which, MSCT has become a reliable imaging technique for evaluating the extent of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. In this matter, the MSCT examination procedure for nasopharyngeal carcinoma undertaken at Radiodiagnostic and Radiotherapy Department of Dharmais Cancer Hospital utilizes a scan time delay of 30-40 seconds. This research aims to evaluate the MSCT examination procedure for nasopharyngeal carcinoma using a scan time delay, with contrast injection via an intravenous injector. The research method applied is a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach with a case study design. This research was conducted at Radiodiagnostic and Radiotherapy Department of Dharmais Cancer Hospital. The subjects of the research included 30 patients, seven radiographers, and two radiologists. As for the data collection, it was carried out through among the other things observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research indicate that MSCT examination procedure for nasopharyngeal carcinoma undertaken at Dharmais Cancer Hospital is carried out with the patient preparation that does not require any fasting and laboratory tests prior to the examination. A scan time delay of 30 seconds was applied to 15 patients, while a scan time delay of 40 seconds was used for the remaining 15 patients, with a contrast media volume of 35 ml per patient. Following this scan time, a topogram and post-contrast scanning were accordingly performed. Subsequently, the post-contrast images were reconstructed into axial, coronal, and sagittal slices. Data processing was conducted by analysing the results from the SNR values and questionnaires on the variations in scan time delay for 30 samples, followed by normality testing and hypothesis testing. The results of this research show that there were no differences in image quality on MSCT of nasopharyngeal carcinoma with scan time delay variations of 30 seconds and 40 seconds.
