Studi Kasus Penyinaran Keloid dengan Modalitas Elektron di Rumah Sakit Pusat Pertamina

Medically, the radiation technique for treating keloid cases using electron modality, based on several references, demonstrates a very high success rate in healing. In relation to which, at Pertamina Central Hospital, the radiation technique for keloid cases has adopted the electron modality for external radiation, utilizing the 3D-CRT technique combined with the use of Cerrobend cut-out blocks. This research aims to analyse the electron modality radiation technique for keloid treatment carried out at Pertamina Central Hospital. The research design used is descriptive qualitative, involving among the other things observations, interviews, and documentation. As for the data for this research, they were collected at Radiotherapy Department of Pertamina Central Hospital starting from August up to November 2024.
The results of this research indicate that the keloid radiation technique using electron modality carried out at Pertamina Central Hospital includes patient preparation procedures, which involve preparing equipment and materials such as fixation devices, bolus wax, marker points, and patient simulation using a CT simulator. In addition, the planning process is carried out in the Treatment Planning System (TPS), followed by the creation of the cut-out block in the mould room, and finally, the patient radiation procedure using the Linac machine.
