Purposefully, this research aims to analyse the examination technique of Multi-Slice CT
Angiography in cerebral stroke with intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) undertaken at Radiology
Department of Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh. This research applies
qualitative method, with a case study approach.
This research was conducted at Radiology Department of Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional
General Hospital, Banda Aceh. As for the data collection, it took place starting from October 2024
up to January 2025, after receiving ethical approval. The population for this study consists of 5
patients who underwent MSCT Angiography cerebral examinations. The sample was selected
using purposive sampling, including 2 patients who underwent MSCT Angiography cerebral with
clinical signs of stroke and intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH). The respondents in this research
include 3 radiographers and 2 radiologists.
Data collection methods were carried out through among the other things observation,
interviews, and documentation. The research instruments used included observation sheets,
interview sheets, and documentation sheets. Meanwhile, data processing and analysis were
conducted by comparing the processed data with the existing standards, such as Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the theories of Bruening and Rubin.
The results of the study indicate that the procedure for CTA cerebral examination with
clinical signs of stroke and intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH), using a contrast volume of 40 ml and
a flow rate of 4 ml/s, is effective in visualizing cerebral blood vessels. The ascending aorta was
used as the region of interest (ROI) to facilitate ROI placement, as it has a large size, allowing the
contrast medium to adequately fulfil the cerebral blood vessels. The radiographic images were
visualized using Multi-Planar Reconstruction (MPR), Volume Rendering Technique (VRT),
Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP), and Shaded Surface Display (SSD). These techniques aim
to view all sides of the examined object, providing additional information, as the initial CT scan
images are in 3D format, allowing for comprehensive visualization, particularly in terms of
measurement and accuracy.
