ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN LUNG WINDOW DENGAN ASIR TERHADAP CITRA CT SCAN TORAKS DENGAN KLINIS TUBERKULOSIS DI RSUD BUDHI ASIH

Pathologically, Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease that remains a significant public health issue worldwide. In Indonesia, TB is the leading cause of death among infectious diseases and ranks as the third leading cause of death overall, following heart disease and acute respiratory diseases. For that reason, Chest CT scans are performed to detect any abnormalities in the mediastinum and require high spatial resolution and detail, as the structures within the lung cavity such as the bronchi and pulmonary vessels are very small and closely resemble one another. In relation to which, Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction (ASIR) is an iterative reconstruction algorithm developed by GE Healthcare for CT scanners. It is designed to reduce image noise, thereby enhancing CT image quality and providing clearer visualization for diagnosis.
This research aims to analyse whether there is a difference in image quality between ASIR 40% and ASIR 60% variations in chest CT scans of tuberculosis cases using the Lung Window setting.
The research design used is quantitative descriptive. This research was conducted at Radiology Department of Budhi Asih Regional General Hospital starting from October to November 2024. While the study population and sample consist of 13 subjects.
The instrument used in this research is the GE Revolution Evo CT scanner. As for the data collection methods, it includes the use of among the other things work sheets, questionnaire guidelines, and interview sheets. Thereafter, the acquired CT scan data was reconstructed using ASIR 40% and ASIR 60% variations, which were then used to develop a questionnaire based on a Likert scale. The questionnaire was distributed to three radiologists and three radiographers.
In addition, data processing was carried out by comparing the questionnaire results for ASIR 40% and ASIR 60% variations, followed by statistical testing to determine any significant differences in image quality.
The results of this research indicate a significant difference in image quality between the ASIR 40% and ASIR 60% reconstruction techniques in chest CT scans for tuberculosis cases. In terms of anatomical image information, the ASIR 40% variation provides better image quality compared to ASIR 60%. However, when it comes to noise reduction, the ASIR 60% variation performs better than ASIR 40%.
