PENATALAKSANAAN PEMERIKSAAN MRI GENU DI RUMAH SAKIT SATYA NEGARA
Background: Purposefully, in genu MRI examination, besides to show anatomy, it is also able to show any abnormality in knee joint problems like meniscal tear, cruciate ligament tear, post-recovery cruciate ligament tear, bursae, chondromalacia patella, bones tumors and bones damage in the knee joints. In this matter, according to related data concerning knee injury, 60% occurs because of sport. Out of the aforementioned 60%, 50% of knee injury happens because of some movements when doing exercise like squat movement, twisting movement, stop movement, and jump movement.
Research design: This research is undertaken by applying a descriptive qualitative method in the form of description of certain circumstances or actual fact collected in the forms of words or images conducted in September 2023 in Radiology Installation of Satya Negara Hospital. As for the population in this research, they are the undergoing patients of Genu MRI examination in Radiology installation of Satya Negara Hospital, meanwhile the number of samples is one patient who was undergoing Genu MRI examination. Method of data collection used comprise among the other things observation, literature study and interviews with radiographer or doctor. Furthermore, instrument research used is documentation tool, writing tools and interview sheet between the researcher and radiographer regarding the flow of Genu MRI examination executed in Satya Negara Hospital. Thereafter, the results of observations and interviews data will be recorded with the objective to make a comparison with the literature which is made as the reference.
Research result: This research concludes that the preparation of the patient for Genu MRI examination undertaken in Satya Negara Hospital is in accordance with the theory of Muhammad Elmaoğlu, Azim Çelik, namely it will be safer before the patient enter MRI room, the patient should be scanned first by using a metal detector and additional sequences in accordance with the theory of Muhammed Elmaoğlu, Azim Çelik namely Axial T2*GRE, Coronal T2*GRE, Coronal STIR and Sagittal PD. Meanwhile in Satya Negara Hospital there is only one additional sequence namely Sagittal T2*GRE. Every additional sequence will be used, the extent to which, the patient experiencing trauma or bleeding, however many circuit variations used will be very influential to the scanning time.
