Medically, one of treatments for cancer cervix is done by applying 3DCRT radiotherapy
technique. Whereby, in the implementation of which, this technique needs a high accuracy due to
the fact that an optimal identification variation configuration of the patient in the form of
systematic and random error will greatly contribute to the accuracy of 3DCRT technique. One of
random errors is the difficulty of getting the same position on the patient when the patient is
exposed to light and when the patient is given CT Simulator because of a lot of fat in the area of
hips, waist and stomach of the patient. That's why it requires a review over the patient's Body
Mass Index (BMI) to make geometry verification by using Computed Radiography (CR) portal in
3DCRT technique for Cervix cancer case undertaken at Radiotherapy Installation of Arifin
Achmad Regional General Hospital Pekanbaru.
In relation which, this research designs uses descriptive method with qualitative
approach. As for the data used, it is secondary data of cervix cancer patient obtained from
Treatment Planning System (TPS) data and verification data from CR computer conducted at
Radiotherapy Installation at Arifin Achmad Regional General Hospital Pekanbaru starting from
January up to March 2023. Furthermore, research was carried out in September up to October
2023. Data collection was processed with field observation method, interview with 5 respondents,
1 Medical Physicist, 4 Radiotherapists, namely measuring the mark of geometry shift and
documentation studies. Primary data is processed by using Microsoft Excel.
Finally, result of geometry verification study performed over 17 patients who have group
of fat /obese BMI categories and groups of thin/very thin BMI categories in the first fraction
generates a varying shift value. A varying geometry shift value in the patient group with
overweight/obese BMI is getting more in value than the geometry shift value in the patient groups
who have a thin/very thin BMI category. The cause of geometric shifts is systematic errors in the
form of inappropriate tool used. Then the random errors that occur are influenced by different
patient conditions, including the condition of body fat.
