EVALUASI EXPOSURE INDEX PADA PEMERIKSAAN THORAX POSTERIOR-ANTERIOR
Diagnostically, radiodiagnostic examination is medical imaging using ionizing radiation
to obtain clinical information concerning the patient. In relation to which, in Digital
Radiography (DR) system there is an indicator that shows the Flat Panel Detector's
response against the absorbed radiation exposure, called the Exposure Index (EI),
meanwhile, such EI is proportional to the radiation exposure received by the patient
based on the selection of exposure factors. The application of exposure factor
optimization can be undertaken by reviewing the value of the Exposure Index of Thorax
examination per Posterior-Anterior projection. For that reason, in its application as an
optimization reference, the Exposure Index can show the relative speed and sensitivity of
digital receptors to X-rays. The general objective of this research is to evaluate and
analyse the Exposure Index value in the Posterior-Anterior Thorax examination. As for
this research, it was conducted in Murni Teguh Sudirman Jakarta Hospital starting from
March 2023 up to May 2023. This research method was descriptive quantitative method
by processing 70 samples of Posterior-Anterior Thorax examinations. The results of this
research showed that 47 out of 70 samples are overexposed exposure and 23 out of 70 are
optimal exposure. Based on the data presented, there is no significant relationship
between the kV and mAs values and the Exposure Index value and there is a negative
correlation between these two variables.
