Anatomically, vertebral column is a part of human bone forming the central axis of skeleton frame and cantered in the posterior midsagittal body. In relation to which, vertebral column has function to wrap and protect spinal nerves as well to envelop brain membrane. Vertebral column provides columna as a support which is considerably flexible for trunk and head, as well as to transmit the heavy trunk and upper part of the body to the down part of the body. In view of that, this examination aims to identify whether there is any abnormality in the spine, among the things fractures, spina bifida, Hernia Nucleus Pulposa (HNP), spondylolisthesis, spondylolysis as well as the abnormally curving body like lordosis, kyphosis and scoliosis.
This research aims to analyse the technique of thoracolumbar radiographic examination with clinical scoliosis. This research was conducted at Radiology Installation of PMI Bogor Hospital starting from May up to July 2023 using a descriptive qualitative method and using interviews and observation data obtained from the results of secondary data from the researchers.
The results of image description of this thoracolumbal examination showed that thoracic scoliosis is in (T5-T11) section with a tilt direction to the right and a false thoracolumbal in (T12-L5) section with a tilt direction to the left. In this examination, there are only 3 projections used, namely Antero-Posterior (AP) with an erect position, right bending and left bending with the patient in an erect position.
